With over 30 years of experience as a CTO, CIO and industry analyst Paul has extensive knowledge of technology, innovation, and their impact on business and society. Prior to joining SAP, he was Vice President, Research for Gartner, providing advice to the world’s largest and most influential technology providers.

Born in the UK, he wrote his first computer programme at the age of 11, the same year he began to play guitar. To his great and constant disappointment, he is a much better programmer than guitarist.

He is a frustrated, failed musician who spent several years working in the music industry in New York City and Hollywood, CA working with major label recording artists and film studios. He has a double platinum disk from his work with a major rock star to prove that he used to be cool once.

He lives in a remote location in Scotland with his wife. Fortunately, he has good internet.
